Hello, friends! Please welcome the AirPads II, the new air cushion focus pads by Ultimatum Boxing.
We've revised everything. Materials, padding, fit, design. And most importantly, the second AirPads are mass-produced both with and without a grip ball.
Andrey Ivichuk actively participated in the creation of the first Airpads. The fruit of our joint efforts were the pads with a recognizable "eyed" design, popular among trainers from everywhere. On Instagram they are regularly spotted in gyms around the World.
However, Bupas' signature pads reflect his personal preferences and from the very beginning left room for your wishes and suggestions. The idea arose to expand the line.
To help design the new Airpads, we invited Artur Kiktev, a pad expert, enthusiast, and the author of the largest number of proposals in the history of Ultimatum Boxing.
Arthur insisted on adding an extra cuff, increasing the "donut" hole, and reworking the glove. The pads visually became thicker, although the nominal thickness of the padding did not change. In the new version, we simply made the case looser to give the padding more air.
The design team agreed on some things, but disagreed on others.
For example, everyone was unanimous that the glove needed to be made tighter and all suede elements removed. Previously, it seemed that suede would prevent slipping. But the downside showed itself later - suede actively absorbed moisture and over time acquired unpleasant odors.
It was decided to ensure a tight fit by using a denser and tighter glove design and an additional soft cuff that secures the hand inside, as soon as you move your thumb to the side.
There was some disagreement about the finger cover. Arthur suggested making it optional, like a well-known Japanese brand, citing that some might prefer it that way. In the end, we agreed that the cover would remain an integral part of the basic design for safety reasons. And the ventilation problem was solved by organizing an air flow in the fingertip area. I wonder if you'll pay attention to this?
Where Andrey and Artur's opinions diverged diametrically was in the matter of the ball under the palm. Andrey was categorically for it, and Artur was categorically against it. Therefore, the second AirPads were released in two versions, the most radical difference between which was precisely the ball.
With the start of field testing, the new pads immediately appeared on Andrey and Artur's social networks. For several months, the guys at the Ultimatum contact center most often answered the question "What kind of pads are these and how can I order them?" in Russian and English. The release date had not yet been set, and the most we could offer to those interested at that time was to come to the Ultimatum flagship store and hold samples in their hands.
This, by the way, helped to make another important decision. On the very first day, when the samples were displayed in the store, Alexey from the Ultimatum team, the owner of rather large fists, admitted that he could not pull the pads onto his hands.
We looked into this fact, collected statistics and released AirPads II, the ones without the ball, in two sizes: Regular and Large.
The line is available in 5 original color schemes, popular among fans of the brand since the third generation of Ultimatum Boxing equipment.
